doppler is Meirion Guyon, a visual artist based in Bristol who has been creating computer generated video content for dance music events since 1999, originally under the AVIT banner, after a ‘short’ break from VJing Meirion has rebooted his imagination under the name (((doppler ) ) ) He has worked across a range of styles from house to hiphop and breaks to hardcore, his current focus is on the faster, darker styles of techno and drum and bass.

Exploring the space between chaos and order, Meirion’s work is deeply abstract with a minimal style, fusing geometric shapes, digitally generated textures, and a little reality, sometimes. He believes raves should be dark and projectors and LED walls should be bright. The best moments come when the whole production is in sync. Match the colour and texture of the lights, laser and video and drop to the beat to release the magic.

Content is created within multiple Touchdesigner instances and spouted through Resolume giving great flexibility on aspect ratio and resolution, live cameras are a useful addition. Meirion’s material is 99% self generated, with a seasoning of purchased content.
